Study with local teacher stationed in Arctic

Timothy Dwyer teaches science and math at Spring Street International School. He was selected to participate in PolarTREC — a program that embeds teachers with research teams in the polar regions. This is part of a series by Dwyer on the research team’s expedition through Antarctica.

Join PolarTREC for a special international day of activities including a live event from McMurdo, Antarctica on Thursday, Dec. 1 with PolarTREC teacher Tim Dwyer and the research team looking at polar gigantism in Antarctica. Learn more about the importance of the Antarctica Treaty and how it impacts research being conducted in Antarctica.

This event is in celebration and coordination with ARCUS, APECS and Our Spaces. For additional Antarctica Day activities, visit the Our Spaces website. The one-hour, free event starts at 8 a.m. AKST.

This live event is hosted through the PolarTREC PolarConnect program, and participants will have a chance the learn from the scientists, ask questions and chat with others during the presentation.
