Town attorney joins Oregon law firm

“This move is a positive one for both me and the local government community," attorney Adina Cunningham said. "Beery Elsner & Hammond limits its representation to public bodies like cities and counties … and has a great reputation."

Friday Harbor town attorney Adina Cunningham has joined the Oregon law office of Beery Elsner & Hammond, as a senior associate.

“This move is a positive one for both me and the local government community,” Cunningham said. “Beery Elsner & Hammond limits its representation to public bodies like cities and counties … and has a great reputation.”

Cunningham will continue to represent local government clients, including the Town of Friday Harbor, from offices in Eastsound and Friday Harbor. Her practice will continue to focus on government and regulatory issues, though she will now be representing only government clients.

Raised on Orcas Island, Cunningham has been a part of the San Juan County professional community since 2007. She was deputy director of San Juan County administration and previously deputy attorney general for the state of Hawaii. She also worked for Hawaii’s largest law firm, Goodsill, Anderson, Quinn, and Stifel, as an environmental law associate.

Pam Beery, Managing Partner of BEH, and her husband and partner, Paul Elsner, are part-time county residents. They purchased a home on Orcas Island in 2010 and plan to work part-time in the San Juans and other areas of Washington, while they continue their practice in Portland.
