Former Zions First National regional president to supervise lending, loans

Islanders Bank recently hired Sherm Losee as senior vice president/chief credit officer. A former northern Utah regional president of Zions First National Bank, Losee will supervise all lending activities at Islanders Bank.

At Zions Bank, Losee’s duties included financial management, sales and overall supervision of 24 branches in a six-county region of Northern Utah.

“We are very excited about having someone with Sherm’s industry knowledge, respect and skill set join our local management team at Islanders Bank,” said Islanders president and CEO Brad Williamson. “His knowledge of banking, finance and credit administration is exceptional. The board of directors and management are excited about the expertise and professionalism that Sherm brings to our organization.”

In addition to a decade of service at Zions National Bank, Losee has been a senior executive with several community banks in Washington state, including chief credit officer for Pioneer Bank, in Yakima. He is a graduate of the University of Utah, the University of Oklahoma’s National commercial lending graduate school and the University of Washington’s Pacific Coast banking school.

Losee has been active in many charitable organizations in Utah and Washington, including acting as board chairman of the United Way of Northern Utah and the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce.

Islanders Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of Banner Corporation May 1, 2007 and operates as the only state-chartered commercial bank headquartered in San Juan County, with a local board of directors and local management.
