Wolverines’ sports wrap-up

Boys Basketball

The Friday Harbor boys basketball team started a strong stretch in late January with a pair of home victories, defeating La Conner 53-26 on Jan. 20 and Concrete 59-41 on Jan. 27.

The team then hit the road for two challenging matchups against the league’s top teams, falling 41-51 at Mount Vernon Christian on Jan. 30 and dropping a 55-69 overtime decision at Orcas Island on Feb. 3.

As of Feb 6, Friday Harbor is 4-5 in league and 4-15 overall.

Girls Basketball

Friday Harbor’s boys basketball team had a mixed stretch of games, starting with a 53-33 loss to La Conner on Jan. 20. They bounced back on Jan. 23 with a 41-20 win at Lopez, followed by another strong performance on Jan. 27, defeating Concrete 67-31 at home. The team then faced tough losses on the road, falling 84-23 at Mount Vernon Christian on Jan. 30 and 47-43 at Orcas Island on Feb. 3.

Friday Harbor’s girls basketball team had an overall record of 6-13. In district competition, they went 3-6, placing fifth in the 1B/2B Northwest standings.
