The Friday Harbor Wolverines lost 1-0 to Lynden Christian at Oak Harbor Saturday, ending a season that included a league title, eight shutouts, a host of team records, and a 12-6 record.

The first half was completely even, with the match scoreless at half time. Friday Harbor dominated the second half yet it was the Lyncs who scored the only goal in the 60th minute. The Wolverines continued to press and came tantalizingly close, but were unable to find the back of the net.

“Seniors Hannah Snow, Alex MacDonald, Lola Elford, and Alex Freeman,

in what proved to be their final game, played their hearts out and left it all on the field,” Coach Mark Fishaut said. “A stellar match.”

Fishaut expects “lots” of his players to be All-League selections.

“More important than any wins, losses or records, I’m proud the girls did the hard work to take care of themselves. We got through the season with no injuries,” Fishaut said.
