Ten Wolverines contributed to the team’s 7-0 defeat of Mount Vernon Christian on the road Thursday.

With the win, the Wolverines improved to 5-2 overall — four of the wins have been shutouts. Next, the Wolverines travel Saturday to Meridian; game time is noon.

Emma Ytander scored at the 14th (assist Clara Brand), 21st (assist Alex MacDonald), 24th (assist Hannah Starr), and 32nd before she was done for the day.

Second-half goals came from Elle Guard (unassisted) at 42 minutes, Jenny MacDonald (assist Kayla Drummond) at 50, and Alex MacDonald (assist Liz Taylor) in the 52nd.

Rhianna Franklin and Hannah Snow continue unblemished at the goal in League play.

Tuesday, the Wolverines defeated the Orcas Vikings 3-0.

Maggie Andersen scored on the 12th (assist Lola Elford). Emma Ytander scored at the 54th (PK) and again at the 65th (unassisted).

A large and enthusiastic crowd was treated to an entertaining match under the lights. Orcas played well considering it was its first game of the season and Friday Harbor’s sixth.

Hard work in practice lead to the Wolverines’ first corner kick goal of the season, as Elford delivered a perfect ball to Andersen who headed it in at the 12th minute. The tight match was broken open midway through the second half as Ytander finished a penalty kick at 54 minutes and completed the scoring with a fine solo effort in the 65th minute.

The defense was again impenetrable, extending their time without yielding a goal to 341 minutes.
