Bill Cumming of San Juan Fitness won first place in the Men’s Singles B Division at the 2009 Washington Back to the Courts Fall Kickoff racquetball tournament, Friday at Bally’s Total Fitness in Lynnwood.

Vinnie Vela of San Juan Fitness advanced to the second round with a defeat of Eddie Hayte of Prosser, but lost to Ty Sauve of YMCA Everett. Cumming faced Sauve after consecutive defeats of Brian Gillespie of YMCA Marysville, Arturo Cardona of Bremerton Tenni-Silver, Ryan Matthews of YMCA Marysville.

Cumming defeated Sauve to win the single-elimination tournament. Sauve finished second, James Morton of Thorbecke’s Tenino placed third.
