WSF: Plan ahead for holiday ferry travel

Washington State Ferries advises holiday travelers to expect heavy traffic on all ferry routes throughout the holiday season, and to allow extra time for ferry travel during this busy time of year.

Washington State Ferries advises holiday travelers to expect heavy traffic on all ferry routes throughout the holiday season, and to allow extra time for ferry travel during this busy time of year.

Four of WSF’s nine routes will operate on a holiday schedule on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day; all other routes will operate on their regular weekday schedules.

WSF will operate ferry service on Christmas Day (Friday, Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Friday, Jan. 1) as follows:

— Anacortes/San Juan Islands: regular weekday schedule.
— Anacortes/Sidney, B.C.: regular weekday schedule.
— Edmonds/Kingston: holiday schedule.
— Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth: regular weekday schedule.
— Mukilteo/Clinton: holiday (Saturday) schedule.
— Point Defiance/Tahlequah: holiday (weekend) schedule.

— Seattle/Bainbridge Island: holiday (Saturday) schedule.
