The Whale Museum’s 2011 lecture series continues with Jonathan Stern, PhD., at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17 at the museum on First Street.

Stern will discuss the effects of whale watching boats on migrating gray whales, which is based on research that his team has conducted off the coast of California.

He has collected data on the foraging behavior of Minkes, on the San Juan Islands and in California.

Stern has been a volunteer and co-investigator at the Northeast Pacific Minke Whale Project since 1980. He is also an instructor in the Biology Department at San Francisco State University.
