Citizens Alliance for Property Rights San Juan presents a seminar, “Wetlands, Science & Laws,” Oct. 30 and 31 in the San Juan Island Grange Hall.

The seminar is designed for architects, builders, developers, landscapers, law professionals, planners, property owners and other interested residents.

Registration is $15 per day or $25 for both days (includes lunch).

The presenters:

— Steve Neugebauer is a licensed hydrogeologist/engineering geologist with more than 25 years experience, and a principal with SNR Company, a consulting firm based in Duvall.

Neugebauer said he started SNR to correct all of the “wrongs” not only in wetland areas but also by being objective and bringing in more precise science.

— Paul Hirsch is an environmental attorney licensed in the state of Washington. He is also a geomorphologist with an abiding interest in land and water, and how these react to human use and development.

— Justin Park’s interest in law came from his involvement in his family’s business — electrical contracting. Park represents clients on issues such as construction, real estate and government relations/land use.

On Oct. 30, the seminAr begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by “What you need to know about legal issues of wetlands and other critical areas,” from noon to 4:10 p.m.

On Oct. 31, the seminar begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by “The Science of Wetlands and Other Critical Areas” from noon to 4:10 p.m.
