The San Juan Island School District is pleased to announce that all students at Friday Harbor Elementary School and Griffin Bay School will be able to receive free school meals during the 2025-2026 school year, thanks to House Bill 1238. Additionally, the school district has applied to make these two schools Provision 2 schools. If this is approved, both schools will be able to serve free meals to all students for the next four years!

In order to continue to make this possible and to be sure that both schools get all of the state educational program funding that they are entitled to, all families at these schools are encouraged to fill out the Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefits Application online or by paper application before Oct. 1.
