San Juan Island novelist and blogger Susan Wingate has signed a three-book contract with a publisher. The publisher has not been disclosed.

Wingate will write a three-book sequel to her “Bobby’s Diner,” which was a finalist in the National Best Books 2009 Awards and the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. “Bobby’s Diner” was published by Cambridge Books.

Described as a tale of tolerance and acceptance, “Bobby’s Diner” depicts a woman’s journey after the harrowing death of her husband in a town where she’s persona non grata.

“Moments of humor mix with deep emotions in this book,” author Joyce Anthony wrote in a review of “Bobby’s Diner.”

“Susan Wingate shows an understanding of human nature well beyond what is normally seen in a novel. She has a mastery of dialogue that I find refreshing — I felt as though I was right there, listening … Between her mastery of dialogue and understanding of human nature, Susan Wingate held me captive with this book.”

Wingate is also the author of “Camouflage,” written under the pseudonym Myah Lin; “Of the Law”; and “Ravings of a Mad Gentlewoman: A Bold Collection of Writing.”
