The ‘eyes’ have it; Leos & Lions team up on purchase of new vision-check system

Working in consultation with school nurse Martha Sharon, members of the Leo Club, a total of 38 students in grades 9-12, helped to raise $1,000, along with its parent club, the Friday Harbor Lions Club, for the purchase of a new vision-check system. It includes an electronic letter chart, "lens-less" glasses that cover each eye when the other is being tested and a new monitor.

Children of all ages can now have their vision checked more efficiently thanks to Friday Harbor High School Leo Club.

It includes an electronic letter chart, “lens-less” glasses that cover each eye when the other is being tested and a new monitor.

The new vision-check system will replace an older one that has reportedly been in use for many years.

Sponsored by the Lions Club, the Leo Club is in its ninth year at Friday Harbor High School and is one of roughly 5,000 such student community service clubs in the nation.
