Stillpoint students named sem-finalists in state literary contest

Ula Grace and Eden Light of Friday Harbor’s Stillpoint School were selected as semifinalists in Washington state’s 2013 “Letters About Literature” program. Ula, a 6th grader, and Eden, in 5th grade, were chosen for the semifinalist award from roughly 3,400 students Washington state.

A nationwide reading and writing project for intermediate-age students, Letters About Literature is sponsored by the Washington state Library, Office of Secretary of State and The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. With the help of parent volunteers, students at the Friday Harbor’s Stillpoint School participated in the LAL contest for the first time this year.
