Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor has a mission to improve the lives of women and girls, locally, and around the globe.  These fundraising monies go toward annual awards and scholarships for local women; ferry tickets for cancer treatment; emergency grants to women in need; regular support and volunteers for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of the San Juan Islands and Family Resource Center of San Juan Island; matching WIC payments at the San Juan Island Farmers Market, in a win-win situation that helps feed mothers and children, as well as helping out local farmers.
