SJC Dems election endorsements released

Endorsements for candidates and ballot measures were determined as part of the local political party's first-ever polling of party members via email.

San Juan County Democratic Party released its endorsements for the upcoming Nov. 4 election.

Endorsements for candidates and ballot measures were determined as part of the local political party’s first-ever polling of party members via email.

The party considered only candidates that requested endorsement. Endorsements are as follows:

• Jamie Stephens, San Juan County Council, District 3 (Lopez).
• Randy Gaylord, San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney.
• Kristine Lytton, Washington State Representative, Position No. 1, 40th District.
• Rick Larsen, U.S. Representative, Congressional District No. 2.
• San Juan County Proposition No. 1 (six-year levy lid-lift).
• San Juan County Hospital, District No. 1, (EMS levy)
• State Initiative, No. 594, (background checks for firearm sales and transfers).
• State Initiative No. 1351, (K-12 education).
