A long-time San Juan Island resident passed away this morning while waiting in line for a ferry at the Friday Harbor terminal.

San Juan County Undersheriff Brent Johnson speculated that the man died from a heart condition.

“It’s a very sad time,” said Johnson.

The deceased man’s name will not be released until his family is notified.
