San Juan Community Foundation seeking 2010 grant applications

Grants are awarded through a competitive process to assure that broad community needs are addressed. Projects that provide partnership opportunities for two or more organizations or that leverage new resources, or that have lasting impact are of particular interest.

The San Juan Island Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2010 grant cycle.

Completed applications must be postmarked or received no later than June 1.

The Community Foundation supports local non-profits that focus on arts and culture, basic needs, education, environment, health and wellness and general community concerns.

Grants are awarded through a competitive process to assure that broad community needs are addressed. Projects that provide partnership opportunities for two or more organizations or that leverage new resources, or that have lasting impact are of particular interest.

Recipients will be notified in early September, and grants are awarded at the annual Breakfast of Champions event at the end of that month.

The Foundation distributed a total of $66,883 in grants between 27 local non-profits as part of its 2009 Breakfast of Champions event.
