Orca whales celebrated at Whale Museum ‘Day of the Dead’

The museum invites event-goers to share stories, photographs and memories in a tribute to whales lost this year, L-2, L-26, L-79 and J-8, as well as those previously departed, Friday, Nov. 1, 3-5 p.m.

The Friday Harbor Whale Museum will honor the lives and commemorate the deaths of departed members of the Southern Resident killer whales as part of its third annual “Day of the Dead” celebration, Friday, Nov. 1.

The museum invites event-goers to share stories, photographs and memories in a tribute to whales lost this year, L-2, L-26, L-79 and J-8, as well as those previously departed. In the tradition of Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebrations, refreshments will be provided.

The event, 3-5 p.m. at the Whale Museum, is free.
