Online comic book creator launches fundraiser for illustrator

Aaron D'Errico is promoting an online fundraiser for the prize of to hand out to the winning artist of his very own art contest. "The goal is to raise a total of $2,000 dollars via the online funding website, Crowdtilt.com,"D'Errico said.

To say Aaron D’Errico has been busy is an understatement.

The Friday Harbor artist has been going gangbusters promoting his global soccer-hero comic book art contest entry with Talenthouse.com on Seattle TV, radio, in the foreign press and online.

His contest entry was also featured in “The Irish Daily Star,” on Aug. 28. The paper covers all of Ireland, where D’Errico’s Dad played pro soccer for Dundalk FC.

He’s also doing an online fundraiser for the prize of to hand out to the winning artist of his very own art contest.

“The goal is to raise a total of $2,000 dollars via the online funding website, Crowdtilt.com,”D’Errico said.

“The current rate for a 22-page comic is $2,000 and I’m doing it out of respect for the winning artist, because if I expect professional work, the winning artist deserves professional pay,” he recently told the Journal.

He will also be placing donation jars around town as well.

“Each will have with info on my fundraising and my goal for the global art contest, too,” he said. It’s open for another 13 days.

“The crowd funding website Crowdtilt.com said that if I get 15 to 20 different people donating that they would promote my fundraising campaign on their Facebook page that has over 30,000 likes and their Twitter page that has over 4,000 followers,” he added.

D’Errico’s talent was recently publicized with an interview on King 5 New Day NW, and a radio interview on “The Rock,” KISW, 99.9, for “Geek Nation”.
