NOAA ecologist Brad Hanson to speak at Whale Museum

The Whale Museum is pleased to welcome Brad Hanson as part of the 2016 Lecture Series on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. Dr. Hanson will cover Northwest Fisheries Science Center’s updates on the Southern Resident killer whales. Dr. Hanson is an ecologist at NOAA’s Northwest Fisheries Science Center and is currently studying foraging and habitat use of Southern Resident killer whales. Previously, Brad worked as a Wildlife Biologist at the National Marine Mammal Laboratory in Seattle, Wash.
Dr. Hanson received a doctorate from the University of Washington where he worked on the development of improved tag attachment systems for small cetaceans. He also holds an M.S. in Fisheries and a B.A. in Zoology from the University of Washington.
