The San Juan Islands Museum of Art is relocating to 235 A Street, next to Gallery San Juan, just above the ferry parking and across from Market Chef the area.

New location

The San Juan Islands Museum of Art is relocating to 235 A Street, next to Gallery San Juan, just above the ferry parking and across from Market Chef the area.

The fresh space, sponsored by Blue Water and the China Pearl, will have a front and back gallery and a museum store.

New Art

Student artwork, from the Art Education Grant coordinated by IMA, will be in the side windows of the new location Jan. 1 to Jan. 15.

The grand opening is Jan. 21, kicking off with an exhibition by artist Adonna Khare. who creates large drawings of a surreal and playful animal habitat.  The exhibition is focused around a 35 foot drawing of this magical wildlife world.

New trips

The Islands Museum of Art is organizing bus trips to the Seattle Art Museum starting March 14 for the Gauguin Exhibition. Trip price is $100 and only 36 seats are available.
