Submitted by the League of Women Voters of Washington Education Fund

The League of Women Voters of Washington Education Fund and The Spokesman-Review are pleased to announce that voters across Washington State will be able to view a Zoom forum featuring candidates for the position of lieutenant governor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.

The LWV of Tacoma-Pierce County will host the forum; TVW will live-stream it on its website as well as air it at a later date. TVW will also place the forum on its website for later streaming at voters’ convenience. The forum will also be available for later viewing on the LWV of Washington Facebook page and website, The Spokesman-Review website, and the KHQ-TV website.

The position of lieutenant governor is important to Washington State residents. The candidate elected to this office will affect laws and policies that bear on our daily lives. The Spokesman-Review and the LWVWA are proud to assist voters in making their voting decisions by holding this forum.

The lieutenant governor primary forum is the first of 10 forums and debates that The Spokesman-Review and the League of Women Voters are planning so that voters can have the information they need to cast an informed ballot. Other forums include:

• A primary forum for the position of secretary of state will take place at 7 p.m. on July 16. KSPS will televise this forum and livestream the broadcast.

• Debates for candidates vying for governor, attorney general, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, and treasurer will take place in the fall.
