Joseph Finney and Anna-Lisa Overman exchanged vows Sunday, at Valley Church

San Juan Island's Joseph Thankful-John Finney and Anna-Lisa Overman of Arlington married Jan. 30, at San Juan's Valley Church.

Joseph Finney and Anna-Lisa Overman exchanged wedding vows Sunday, Jan. 30, at San Juan Valley Church.

Raised on San Juan, Joseph Finney, who recently added “Thankful-John” to his first name, is the son of Tom Finney.

Finney, resides on Shaw Island, is employed at Shaw Island General Store, and is also a professional tree-house builder.

The bride, Anna-Lisa Overman, daughter of Kenneth and Marilyn Overman of Arlington, is a professional violinist and concertmaster for the Lyric Light Opera. She resides on a 40-acre farm in Arlington, teaches violin and is restoring the farmhouse in which she lives.

Overman’s paternal grandparents, Jack and Marianna, have roots on San Juan Islanders.

The couple intend to share time between Shaw Island and Arlington following their honeymoon.
