Jeanne Sambuck Petersen: 1921 — 2012 | Passages

Prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest, Jeanne Petersen lived in Santa Cruz County for 70 years. During those years she was very active in charitable organizations and graciously hosted many events. She is survived by her daughters Joan Petersen White of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Susan A. Petersen of Watsonville, Calif.

Jeanne Sambuck Petersen died peacefully in her sleep Dec. 7, 2012 at her home in Friday Harbor, Wash. She had lived on San Juan Island for the past 22 years.

Prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest, she had lived in Santa Cruz County for 70 years. During those years she was very active in charitable organizations and graciously hosted many events.

Jeanne, a fourth generation of the Stephen Scurich Family in the Pajaro Valley, was born Jan. 19, 1921 in Watsonville, Calif., to Dr. Anton J. Sambuck and Anna Scurich Sambuck. In 1940, she married Allan E. Petersen and had three children.

She is survived by her daughters Joan Petersen White of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Susan A. Petersen of Watsonville, Calif. She is pre-deceased by her son John Allan Petersen.

Her sister Patricia Sambuck Wilder lives in Elgin, Texas. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in California and Texas. Private family services to be held at a later date.
