To help eliminate the burden on teachers and help classroom learning, Islanders Bank teams are sponsoring the "Gear Up For Our Schools" 2010-11 campaign from Aug. 17 to Sept. 16.

Every year, teachers are found buying school supplies for students who can’t afford them. To help eliminate the burden on teachers and help classroom learning, Islanders Bank teams are sponsoring the “Gear Up For Our Schools” 2010-11 campaign from Aug. 17 to Sept. 16.

Collections bins can be found at the Islanders Bank branches and at the following locations.

Friday Harbor:

Teams hope to collect:
— Black/blue pens.
— Crayons.
— Divider tabs.
— Erasers, rulers and 8-inch scissors.
— Fine-tipped colored markers and pencils.
— Graph paper.
— Glue sticks.
— Green and red correcting pens.
— Highlighters: green, pink, yellow and blue.
— No. 2 wood pencils with erasers.
— Pencil sharpeners.
— Pencil/supply boxes and pouches.
— Spiral wide-ruled notebooks.
— Three-hole college and wide-ruled notebook paper.
— Three-ring 1-inch and 2-inch binders.
— Water-based markers and paints.
— White-out.
