Submitted by the Town of Friday Harbor.
The Town of Friday Harbor is accepting applications for open positions on the Friday Harbor Arts Commission. Commissioners are volunteers who consider the interests of the Town Council, community and local artists when advising the council on the selection and placement of public art. Meetings are held at 4 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month.
Islanders with experience, involvement or background in visual, performing or literary arts are encouraged to apply. The commission has openings for two voting members and one youth representative age 16 to 19. The youth position provides an opportunity to gain experience in public service, influence the town’s artistic direction and strengthen college credentials.
Those interested are asked to submit an application, letter of interest and, if applicable, examples of their art or experience. Application forms and FHAC guidelines are posted on the FHAC page at the Town website: www.fridayharbor.org. Application review will continue until the positions are filled.
Questions and application should be directed to the Town of Friday Harbor, ATTN: Julie Greene, 60 Second St., PO Box 219, Friday Harbor, WA 98250; julie@fridayharbor.org; 360-378-2810, ext. 1229.
