Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has endorsed John Koster for Congress in the 2nd District.

Koster, a Republican and member of the Snohomish County Council, faces Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Everett, on Nov. 2.

On his website, Huckabee, a Fox News Channel talk show host, wrote that he and his political action commitee “are proud to support John Koster for Congress from Washington’s 2nd Congressional District. John is a third generation Dairyman, and understands the value of hard work. John has the right kind of unique experience to make a great Congressman.

“During his time in the legislature, John led the way on lowering taxes and cutting spending. After being elected to the Snohomish County Council, John was selected to serve on the board of directors for the National and State Associations of Counties.

“John shares our conservative values – in fact, John has a 100% pro-life voting record. Also, John believes that marriage is between one man and one woman and he believes in the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution affording Americans the right to keep and bear arms.

“Please join me in supporting John Koster for Congress, let’s make sure that Washington gets a strong dose of this conservative.”

In response, Koster called Huckabee “a man of stature and integrity … His endorsement is much appreciated.”
