Food and non-alcoholic drinks sold on Elwha and Yakima

Submitted by Washington State Ferries

Galley service on the upper decks of the “Super” class vessels, M/V Elwha and M/V Yakima reopened on Friday, Jan. 12. Food service will be available, but all other upper deck access and seating will remain closed due to Coast Guard regulations. Passengers will be able to purchase food and non-alcoholic beverage items in the upper deck galley and return to the lower passenger deck.

Washington State law prohibits the consumption of alcohol outside of the designated galley serving/seating area. Therefore, alcoholic beverages cannot be sold on these vessels while the upper passenger deck is closed for the winter sailing schedule.

WSF staff intially reported that galley service had been suspended on Jan. 9.
