Ann Einboden, chair of the Friday Harbor Power Squadron Public Boating Committee, has been awarded the Charles F. Chapman Award for Excellence in Teaching by the United States Power Squadrons at their National Meeting in Jacksonville, Florida.

Last fall, Einboden was awarded the Washington State District 16 teaching award, the Carl C. Mahken Award.

The Chapman Award is the highest national award for excellence in teaching bestowed by the USPS. Nominations are submitted by any of the more than 400 U.S. Power Squadrons, comprising more than 40,000 members.

The award comes with a recognition plaque, a gold Chapman Award lapel pin, and a four-year certified instructor card. In addition, the Friday Harbor Power Squadron received a high quality sextant given in Einboden’s name.
