Daniel “Danny” James Erickson, 59, a lifelong islander of Friday Harbor, Wash., passed away from a brain tumor in Bellingham, Wash. on March 9, 2015.

Danny was born on June 16, 1955 in Everett, Wash. He was born to Jim and Darlene Workman Erickson.

Danny was a true islander and will always be remembered for his kind soul and his wittiness (And perhaps a bit of sarcasm, too.) He was a true pirate (in a good sense) and a fisherman extraordinaire. He also had some of the craziest stories to ever be told.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Erickson. He is survived by his mother Darlene Demello of Bellingham, brothers David “Davey” Erickson of Friday Harbor and Eric Erickson of California, and niece Erika Freitas of Mill Creek, Wash., as well as other family and friends. “Ohana”

A memorial service will be held Sunday March 22, at 1 p.m., at Valley Isle Cemetery. Pot Luck Lunch and Bon Fire to follow, at Alvarado Marine.
