The San Juan Island Library is excited to display the artwork of the 2025 Mini Art Show. Nearly 80 canvases were submitted this year, showcasing the artistic abilities of many islanders. The art will be displayed in the library’s main salon until Jan. 4.
“The Mini-Art Show is now in its fifth year, growing from handing out 40 canvases in 2021 to a whopping 128 this year,” said Elizabeth Griffin, SJI librarian and the program’s coordinator. “It’s been wonderful seeing it become a beloved seasonal tradition for many islanders.” For those looking to add mini art to their gallery walls, many of the pieces are available to purchase, with proceeds going to the Friends of the Library. Those who purchase a piece will be able to collect the purchased artwork after Jan. 4.
This art has also been made into a digital collection that can be viewed on the Library’s Biblioboard page, or by using this direct link: https://sjlib.biblioboard.com/anthology-collection/sjiart/miniartshow2025.
“I have enjoyed participating in the Mini Art Show this year, and I’m blown away by the skill and variety of the artwork on display,” said Anthony Morris, assistant director of the SJI Library. “I’m grateful that we can preserve and provide access to these works as digital images for many years to come.” To see the range of local digital collections the library has available, please visit sjlib.org/creators-circle/.
