Soroptimist offers seminars on legal issues, budgeting and community resources

Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor will present the sixth annual free seminar for women, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 20 at Skagit Valley College’s Friday Harbor campus. The seminar, titled “Practical Magic 2.0,” focuses on practical, but not always accessible topics like legal issues, budgeting and community resources. There will be a free lunch provided by Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor. There are only 35 spots available, so register soon by emailing sifriseminar@rockisland.com.

Founded in 1996, the Friday Harbor club is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas — a global organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Friday Harbor members join with almost 80,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women and girls.
