SJICF welcomes Melissa Martin as Assistant Executive Director

Submitted by the San Juan Island Community Foundation

The San Juan Island Community Foundation is pleased to announce Melissa Martin has joined the staff as Assistant Executive Director. Melissa, known as Missy to her friends and family, is a longtime resident of San Juan Island. She joined the SJICF team in January 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience, a deep-rooted connection to the community, and a passion for local volunteerism.

Missy and her husband, Randy, have called San Juan Island home since 1997. Over the years, they have built their home and raised their family on the island, fostering strong relationships within the local community.

With 25 years of experience as a physical therapist, Missy has had the privilege of treating patients in their own homes, which has further solidified her commitment to the well-being of the San Juan Island community. She has volunteered her time to numerous public school and athletic programs and currently serves as the Treasurer for the San Juan Island Service Scholarship.

“I’m very excited to be joining this organization,” said Missy. “SJICF has had such a positive impact on my family and the community we love so much. To be able to contribute to its mission and continue building on the strong community ties that have shaped my life here is a dream. I’m honored to take on this role.”

Amy Saxe-Eyler, Executive Director of SJICF added, “We’re thrilled to have Missy on our team. She has been serving the San Juan Island community for so many years in a variety of roles. Paired with her positive, professional energy, Missy is a perfect fit for the foundation.”
