The San Juan Island Library is excited to announce the creation of a local digital collection memorializing the Island Writers entries from the 2025 San Juan County Fair. If you missed the Island Writers booth at the SJ County Fair, you can still read these fantastic stories, essays and poems in this new digital collection!
These collections can be viewed on the library’s Biblioboard page, or by using this direct link: https://library.biblioboard.com/anthology-collection/sjiwriting/islandwriters2025.
“When the San Juan Island Library came to me with the idea, I was so excited! Partnering with the library felt like such a natural fit for the Island Writers Department and I can’t wait to see how the program grows,” said Amanda Smith, San Juan County events coordinator. The library is excited to add this collection to its growing catalog of local art, literature and culture. “I enjoyed submitting a few poems to the County Fair for the last few years, and I was sad when I didn’t have enough time to browse all the entries. I’m excited that we can now preserve local writing and make it available for many generations to come,” said Anthony Morris, assistant director of the SJI Library. “We’re so grateful that we can help provide access to these works, and we are looking forward to continuing this work in future years.” To see the range of local digital collections the library has available, please visit sjlib.org/creators-circle/.
