Join Island Rec’s 2018 Children’s Festival poster contest

Submitted by Park and Rec

Mark your calendars; the San Juan Island’s 28th Annual Children’s Festival is happening Saturday, May 5, 2018. The theme is “Starry Starry Night.”

Island Rec needs help to design the poster for this year’s Children’s Festival. Kids of all ages are invited to submit poster designs that incorporate this year’s festival theme.

Artworks must be submitted on an official entry form that will be ready for distribution on March 1 and obtained at Island Rec’s office or at the elementary school. Poster designs must be returned to Island Rec, at 580 Guard St., by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 to be considered by contest judges. In addition to the honor and title of “official poster designer,” there will be one first-place prize and three runner-up prizes given to the committee’s top choices in poster design. Inquiries, volunteers and activity ideas should be directed to Morgan Johnston. As always, the Children’s Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Juan County Fairgrounds building.
