Fog laid over San Juan Island on the morning of Monday, Dec. 11, including the Port of Friday Harbor.
According to the Seattle and Tacoma office for the National Weather Service, visibility in Friday Harbor was reduced to as low as a quarter of a mile at around 8 a.m. that morning. An hour later, visibility was at a mile, then to average levels of 10 miles by 11 a.m.
