San Juan Island’s first and only professional dance company presents its first full length contemporary ballet, an adult fairy tale.

“Prince of the Rain Realm,” written and choreographed by La Danse de la Mer’s director Lina Downes, will premiere for one night only at San Juan Community Theatre, Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m.

The contemporary ballet will feature world-touring dancers and brothers Sylvain and Danny Boulet, principal dancer Andrew Hallenbeck, contemporary dancer and ballerina Caitlyn Ross who is formerly from New York, and contemporary dancer Kerry Ratza.

Also featured are Julie Hagn, Joely Loucks, Stephen Moore, Michelle and Ian Randall and Amani and Ferah Bakuy.

The contemporary ballet includes diverse selections of music from Pink Floyd to Mozart and a good versus evil theme.

“If you like Tokien’s Ring, Harry Potter and even Wagner’s Ring, you’ll love this fantastical production,” Downes said.

Due to mature themes, parental guidance is suggested.

Tickets cost $17 for adults, and $9 for students reserved. Visit www.sjctheatre.com for more information or call the box office at 378-3210.
