Business owners and startup entrepreneurs are invited to join the EDC and San Juan County’s SCORE mentor and EDC Board President, Chris Reed, for an online workshop on writing an efficient, precise business plan. The session, One Page Business Plan, will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 10-11 a.m. via Zoom.
Participants will learn to sharpen their business plans, clearly communicate their companies’ message and value proposition, target their most important customers and uncover their competitive advantages using the popular one-page Lean Canvas tool. In this session, Reed will explain how to distill the essence of businesses to build on strengths, clarify the pathway forward and develop winning plans. Specific businesses can be workshopped in the session or in a subsequent 1:1 planning meeting with the county’s SCORE mentor.
Reed, workshop instructor and SCORE mentor, has been a founder or early leader in eight start-ups, several of which grew to become $1B businesses. In the islands, Reed established a business mentorship program under the SCORE aegis, advised scores of local businesses on accessing pandemic funds, is active in the island boating community and is an EDC board member.
This workshop is $10 and requires preregistration at https://sanjuansedc.org/bizlabs.
