Historically “going postal” has been a negative cliché to describe extreme worker decompensation under unreasonable duress.

Locally at least, the opposite has been true this holiday season. The local US Post Office staff has labored to provide efficient and friendly service under the combined burdens of short staffing and insane workload.

In addition, the community has understood and been obviously supportive which speaks well of our Island culture. Bravo!!
