Thank you for supporting library book sale | Letter

Friends of the San Juan Island Library wish to extend our thanks for the strong community support for our Aug. 13 book sale.

Not only did the public turn out in large numbers, the entire sale was full of friends, fun and great book discussions.

We wish to thank Browne’s Lumber for once again lending us plywood sheets to create our book tables.

The Kiwanis again gave us ‘ice cream’ funds for our book purchasers, both young and old.

Also, thanks to our wonderful volunteers who made the event happen. Volunteers with pickup trucks hauled box upon box of books, folks lent us many pairs of saw horses, book sorters created appealing tables of books by genre, and table stockers kept the tables tidy and full during the sale. That was just the setup and running the sale.

At 3 p.m. another troop of volunteers came with trucks and muscles and assisted us in putting everything away.

Thank you everyone for showing the book sale such tremendous support.

With gratitude,

Nancy Sheplor and Stan Mayhew
