Respond in kind; vote ‘Yes’ for EMS | Letters

By supporting them, we are supporting our friends and our families, our community, and ultimately ourselves with one of the finest and most highly-respected EMS departments in the country.

I’ve lived on the island for 23 years and although I have not needed direct services from our SJ EMS, I have witnessed the ways in which they serve and save the lives of friends and family in our community.

From a life-saving trip to Harborview Hospital in Seattle, to an in-home assistance with mobility, I have seen up-front-and-personal the ways in which our EMS women and men are professionally meticulous—not only with their emergency medical skills but also with the thoughtfulness, kindness, and respect they afford those in need of their services.

And all the while meticulously honoring privacy and confidentiality.

We all hear the sirens and know the stories. But SJ EMS is the most visible, best-kept secret on the island.

By supporting them, we are supporting our friends and our families, our community, and ultimately ourselves with one of the finest and most highly-respected EMS departments in the country. Vote “Yes” for EMS.
