Petal power: 2012 Garden tour a delight—thanks to all | Letters

Our goal is to organize another tour in 2013, but the next adventure for the gardening consortium is to make the County Fair Vegetable and Flower Halls as interesting as possible. Thank you for coming on the Garden Tour — see you again at the Fair.

June 9 dawned bright and sunny and docents from WSU Master Gardeners, SJI Garden Club and the San Juan Horticultural Society set off to four lovely island gardens to wait for visitors on the annual Garden Tour. We were not disappointed.

More than 100 people enjoyed the day and we are very sorry that a glitch in communication left some people disappointed. Thank you for supporting this annual event.

It would not be possible without your support of four amazing families that worked so hard to have their gardens in pristine condition. We thank the Vincellettes of Harbor View Place, the owners of Argyle House Bed and Breakfast, the Kings of Songbird Avenue and the Brains of Afterglow for allowing us to show their gardens.

Another vote of thanks is due to Island Garden Company, who helped us in the choice of gardens and worked hard to make their choice as perfect as possible.
