New NEV law is great for our islands

Thirty-five miles an hour is great for our islands. We pride ourselves on “island time.” We live here because of our surrounding beauty and want to take time to enjoy it. Our tourists come for that reason too and want to get away from the rush on the mainland. We welcome sharing our islands with visitors, joggers, bikers, mo-peds, etc., and want them to go home happy, rested, and wanting to come back.

The dilemma caused by the NEV bill passing:

Has anyone suggested changing our speed limit from 45 miles an hour to 35 miles an hour?

To go five miles at 45 miles an hour, it takes 6.5 minutes.

To go five miles at 35 miles an hour, it takes 8.5 minutes.
