Meeting islanders and a promise to voters | Letter

Dear San Juan Friends,

Thank you to those islanders that have met me at their door, Saturday Market, sports field, on the phone and over coffee. I’ve enjoyed your insights, suggestions and our mutual regard for the democratic system.

Climate change’s relationship to fire hazards, toxic chemicals, rising insurance rates, concern about transparency, need for more open budgeting, expenditures relationship to your and your homes’ protection and concerns over the diminished volunteer ranks have been frequent discussion issues.

You have seen the Voter’s pamphlet, yard signs, received the flyers and likely read the letters to the editor.

What I promise to you: Hard work, open discussion, teamwork with all and a consumers’ viewpoint. I will use my years of medical and legal skills to the best of my ability to achieve the goals that we — all of us — mutually seek.

Voting closes Nov. 7th. Please vote.

Let’s work together,

Warren Appleton md,jd
