Grammar

I just got the current issue of The Journal from our mailbox. I read four lines of your top article about Glinda. Then I stopped.

I came to the word ‘lays’ and felt ill. This is unconscionable for a journalist.

Please go back to your high school grammar teacher and find out how the verbs ‘lay’ and ‘lie’ are properly used.

It’s good to know about Steve and Glinda, and I’m sorry that you have this trouble with your knowledge of language.

Thank you,

Eileen Drath
