As parents of three boys in the San Juan Island School District, local business owners, and long-time community members, we are fully in support of renewing the San Juan Island School District (EP&O levy.
This one is personal for me. I grew up here, went through our local schools, and graduated from Friday Harbor High School. The education and support I received helped shape who I am today, and I’m so grateful for that foundation. We want the same strong start and opportunities for our boys — and for every kid in our community.
Our schools are about so much more than academics. They’re a safe place. They’re where kids are encouraged, supported, challenged, and inspired. From counselors and nurses to art, music, STEM, and special education, these programs truly matter. They help our kids feel seen, supported, and confident.
Strong schools make this island a place families want to stay, businesses want to grow, and kids want to come back to after they leave. Supporting our schools is really about investing in the future of our entire community.
We’re proud to stand behind our teachers, staff, and students. Voting YES is about protecting what makes our schools — and San Juan Island — so special.
