None of us are immune from a stroke and a fast response is very important when a stroke arrives; so if we lose our EMS services the next islander to have a stroke may very well die.

On July 13, 2014, I had a stroke in my home and nearly died. The rapid response of our paramedics saved my life.

On my way to Bellingham, my heart stopped three times, I was told. The last time it stopped for nine seconds. That’s when I was told I had just bought a pacemaker.

It’s very important to vote for the levy to fund EMS services. It could be your life that’s hanging in the balance.
