A former Spanish language teacher at Spring Street International School has been charged with second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor. Prosecuting Attorney Randall K. Gaylord filed a complaint July 12 in San Juan County District Court against Olga M. Donoro-Rodriquez, 36, of Spain. The charge is a gross misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail or a $5,000 fine, or both.

William B. “Bill” Morrice passed away July 18, 2010 at the Mount Baker Care Center with his family at his side. Bill was born May 15, 1918 in Seattle, Wash. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Violet R. Morrice; parents, William and Ester Morrice; daughter, Sharon Blake; son, Charles Grant Jr.; and grandsons, Dale Grant and Charles Grant.

John J. Theodore, an entrepreneur whose ventures included the JJ Theodore Company, an independent salmon cannery on Griffin Bay, has died, The Seattle Times reported Sunday in its Obituaries section. Mr. Theodore died July 11, the Times reported. He was 93.
Why do they want an empty field at American Camp? Take away the food source and the predators leave. Without rabbits, the eagles, fox, and all other predators will have to relocate to find food. The experts can say whatever they like, it will not change the facts. Also, if the fox were introduced to the island to control the rabbits, why suddenly has their diet changed exclusively to mice and voles?

After President Obama signed an executive order establishing the first-ever national ocean policy Tuesday, state Sen. Kevin Ranker, D- San Juan Island, said Washington state is uniquely positioned to benefit from this unprecedented effort to coordinate national policy for our oceans and coastlines. “Nothing has highlighted our nation’s dependence on healthy oceans and coasts more than the current BP oil spill disaster,” Ranker said in a press release. “A massive spill in the Puget Sound or on our coast is unthinkable, but it’s not impossible. It’s clear that we can and must do better in how we protect and manage our oceans.”
