Rob Nou has experience and ideas. He also brings fresh leadership, unencumbered by baggage that can come with being with an organization for a long time.
The Journal invited the five candidates for sheriff to tell you, in 400 words or less, what you need to know about what they will do as our top cop. Here are their guest columns.

The Friday Harbor Airport Fly-In and Open House attracted between 800 and 1,000 visitors, July 24. Some 50 volunteers and staff members worked hundreds of hours to promote Friday Harbor Airport with the event, which was held as part of the Friday Harbor Port District’s 60th anniversary.

The impact on the overall biodiversity of the American Camp ecosystem should be a prime focal point for this meeting. Methodology for control, and methods proposed to evaluate results of control procedures and consequences of control to the overall biodiversity of the prairie ecosystem, should be considered. We respectfully request another public meeting be held to consider the entire invasive species program. The meeting should be held in the evening when the maximum number of people could attend.
I would like to thank all of many volunteers that made this 31st Friends of the Library Summer 2010 Book Sale possible.
